Nature-loving Burien residents are always searching for a chance to explore the astonishing diversity of life in the Puget Sound outdoors. And springtime in Seahurst Park may offer the
richest array of natural marvels to enjoy. This event is especially relevant now because of the recent legislative and funding initiatives to preserve and improve the health of Puget
Sound.
On Saturday, March 25, 2006, from 10:00am to noon, adventurers can stroll on down to the Salmon Hatchery at Seahurst Park for a morning of open-air activities celebrating the wonders of
the salmon life cycle.
Friends and families will gather to marvel at the tides and currents along the Seahurst shoreline and create a personal fish-world with arts and crafts. Everyone will have a chance to
squint at mini-salmon and eggs under a microscope and learn about screening gravel and sand in a search for forage fish eggs.
This program is free and family friendly. This series of Puget Sound Adventures is hosted by People For Puget Sound and the Environmental Science Center of Burien. For details and
directions call the ESC at (206) 988-3712.
