Arcata, CA () January 30, 2007 -- To kick off the Take A Stand on the Side of Love Marriage Equality event on Friday, February 16 (information at www.queerhumboldt.org), Queer Humboldt will host Martinis with Momma, a pre-party fun raiser the night before on Thursday, February 15.

The event will be an intimate evening of martinis, appetizers and entertainment featuring Master of Ceremonies, Worthie Paul Meacham Momma, one of the world'ss most popular drag queens. Fashion, fun and frolic are what you experience when you are in the presence of Momma. Her fashion sense and comic timing is requested time and time again in both gay and straight communities. Her vision is to make a difference in the lives of people wanting a touch or a smile. People are the reason I put myself in a fancy dress. Without a soul to tickle, I'sm just a sour pickle, says Momma.

Martinis with Momma will be held at the Collingwood Inn Bed and Breakfast in Ferndale, at 831 Main Street.

We'sre delighted to have Momma come up from Los Angeles to take part in our Humboldt community for Marriage Equality. The evening will be an intimate time for reflecting and celebrating the work our community is doing for marriage equality, says Todd Larsen from Queer Humboldt.

Proceeds from the event will help fund Marriage Equality'ss commitment of building and empowering local grassroots educational outreach in the United States, bridging local community engagement on a national level.
