25th Annual Wayland Potato Festival to be held August 26th and 27th, 2006

The Wayland Fire Department, will be sponsoring the 25th Annual Wayland Potato Festival to be held at Victory Park in Wayland, NY on Saturday, August 26th and Sunday, August 27th.

Wayland, NY May 31, 2006 -- The Wayland Fire Department, in conjunction with the Gunlocke Company, will be sponsoring the 25th Annual Wayland Potato Festival to be held at Victory Park in Wayland, NY on Saturday, August 26th and Sunday, August 27th.



The festivities will begin on Friday evening, August 25th, at 6:30 PM, when the Wayland Fire Department will be hosting a Fire Department Waterball competition at the North End of Main Street. Entertainment, Arts and Crafts booths, and food vendors will be present all day Saturday and Sunday. In addition, Stat MedEvac will have their new medical helicopter on site for tours and service information on both days. There will also be children's8217;s entertainment and fire prevention resources available on both days.



Saturday Evening will be the annual fireworks display sponsored by the Gunlocke Company. Sunday will prove to be a day full of events. At 7:30 AM, Father Schnacky will provide Sunday Services at Victory Park. At 10 AM, Noon, and 2 PM, for the first time, the Wayland Potato Festival will be host to opening football games, Wayland vs. Livonia. The popular Tractor Pull Competition has been brought back this year.



Admission is Free and there will be ample parking available. Please no dogs in Victory Park.
