Breast Cancer Survivor Helps Others

March 12, 2005 -- Haralee Weintraub, a Portland Oregon resident and breast cancer survivor, creates Haralee, a sleepwear company to provide comfort to women suffering from menopausal symptoms."After being diagnosed with breast cancer, I discovered a side effect of chemotherapy that continues long after treatment...hot flashes accompanied by night sweats" said Haralee. "Prior to my cancer, I was an active skier and hiker. I knew the benefits of various materials to provide peak comfort. However, nothing was available in sleepwear. So, Haralee, was born."

Hot flashes, night sweats, and high internal thermostats are all conditions perimenopausal and menopausal women face. All clothing and pillowcases are made of moisture wicking fabric that draws perspiration away from the body where it quickly evaporates. This allows women to have a restful night sleep. By using this material in the sleepwear, women no longer have to feel wet, cold or uncomfortable,"

For more information, and to see the "Cool Garments for Hot Women" go to www.haralee.com. A portion of every sale is donated to breast cancer research.
