December 29, 2004 -- A new product line enables moms, dads, babies, and kids - and anyone else who is passionate about breastfeeding - to promote and support this important healthy start
to a baby's life. Mama's Milk Tees, found at http://www.mamasmilktees.com on the World Wide Web, provides a wide range of designs on everything
from t-shirts, sweatshirts, and baby bibs to mugs, prints, and calendars.
The designs by store owner Anna Swank range from somewhat subtle to in-your-face. Says Swank, "I realize that not everyone is as brazen about breastfeeding as I am, but there are also
those who are even more outspoken than I am. My line includes products that cater to both ends of the spectrum." Swank goes on to say she created the line primarily out of frustration.
"After my son was born, I scoured the internet and retail stores for fun shirts that promoted breastfeeding. By the time I had my daughter, I realized that if I wanted to wear such items,
I was going to have to create them myself."
Although the initial designs were primarily text and cartoon images, new designs display images of real babies breastfeeding. Many of the photographs used were contributed by women around
the world who share Swank's passion for breastfeeding, and believe that breastmilk is the healthiest food a mother can give her baby.
The US Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women's Health recently launched a National Breastfeeding Awareness Campaign to promote breastfeeding. The overall goal of the
campaign is to increase the proportion of breastfed newborn babies to 75%, and the proportion of six month old babies to 50% by the year 2010. Swank believes that raising awareness about
breastfeeding among the general public is an important step in reaching these goals. "For years, bottle-feeding has been the perceived norm among the general population," says Swank.
"Sadly, many breastfeeding mothers have been relegated to backrooms and dirty bathrooms to feed their babies. I hope that the fun and encouraging messages of my designs will help these
mothers feel comfortable feeding their babies wherever they happen to be. After all, it's not really about a mother's right to breastfeed. It's about a baby's right to eat."

About Mama's Milk Tees
Mama's Milk Tees was founded in December of 2004 by Anna Swank. Anna is the proud mother of two year old Jonny, and 13 month old Gracie, who is currently breastfed. When Anna came up
empty-handed in her search for fun breastfeeding advocacy apparel, she decided to create her own, and Mama's Milk Tees was born.
