For two years, www.PinkysJewels.com has offered quality jewelry and personal accessories with lovely tanzanite, garnet, sapphire, and mother of pearl stones, featuring designs by Angelique de Paris, Seiko, and Sheffield. Now, store owner Rae Videen has opened a blog at www.PinkysJewels.net to better keep touch with her audience.
"I like jewelry, so I thought I should sell something that I like," explains Rae, citing her reasons for opening the store. "I think my business reflects that I think jewelry should be
fun, but also elegant. It should really show a person's personality. A lot of the clothing we wear tends to be cookie-cutter, with all of the stores handling the same things, but with
jewelry you can really dress up to accent and personalize yourself. I want to know what types of accents my customers want to see featured."
The blog itself is set up both to handle site news and updates and to offer customers a place to voice their opinions. "I am going to use my blog to discuss the different types of jewelry
out there," says Rae. "How you can tell what's good quality or not, what the different stones are and where they come from, also any special pieces that I get in that I feel are really
special, nice pieces. I'm going to feature them in my blog. I have currently been featuring a tanzanite ring that I have on there that I think is gorgeous, and it is in my Specials. I
would also like to feature in my blog if anything is looking for something special, I am willing to go out and try and find it for them."
Keeping the store unique and fresh is vital to Rae, who prides herself on her quality and diversity. "I am able to choose individual pieces, and I don't have to choose a whole lot of the
same. I don't want to be selling things that everybody will have, so if people go to my site, they won't all end up purchasing the same thing. I'm hoping to get more into selling sets
where a person can get necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings in a specific set to go with a particular outfit that they have."
