The article, titled "FashionCampNYC offers a long, haute summer" explains how veteran camp director Gordon Josey and wife Fran Della Badia have designed a summer program where teens go on a five-day excursion to learn about the fashion industry in New York City.
"At this camp, the counselors aren't college kids. They're fashion illustrators, Vogue scribes and merchandising experts from Coach, American Eagle and Liz Claiborne who brief the youngsters on the biz," wrote New York Daily News writer Leah Chernikoff. "And forget about field trips to a local mall. These campers hit up the three B's of shopping for design inspiration: Bendel, Bergdorf and Barneys." On the final day, campers present their own self-created fashion brand.
This year will be the second season that FashionCampNYC will take teens on the fashion tour of New York. Returning campers from last year will also be able to attend a more in-depth lecture about fashion, merchandising, sourcing and design.
