MoiMeme Attire Launches Offline Social Networking Series

Moi-Meme Attire, the women's custom-tailored clothing business, recently held its first event in a series aimed at creating an "offline social networking" space for its customers and contacts.

"The 'Showing in the Showroom' event series represents our effort to bring together the many talented and successful women in our network, so they may meet and exchange ideas and contacts, salon-style," remarked Moi-Meme founder and chief executive officer, Dawn Verbrigghe. "Online social networking is fast and efficient, but it is really a compliment to -- not a replacement for -- face-to-face interaction."

Ms. Verbrigghe had an epiphany one evening as a graduate student was being fitted for a custom suit she planned to wear to a finance interview and an investment banking managing director arrived for a measuring appointment. "Not only should I introduce these women to one another," she thought, "but how many more of our customers could benefit from meeting other women in the network"

Moi-Meme held the first "Showing in the Showroom" event -- a summer-themed wine tasting -- on June 26. The company invited members of its mailing list, which includes attorneys, Wall Street financiers and media professionals. Kristyn Clement, a director at The Knot, Inc. and a guest at the inaugural event observed, "What a fantastic idea... not only do we get a sneak peek into a much needed custom women's suit line but we get to sample fabulous wines in the process. Playing the consumer while supporting women's entrepreneurship and networking with other professionals -- it's a great way to shop."

The wine tasting was held in Moi-Meme's custom suit showroom and led by Swirl Events. Swirl Events (http://www.swirlevents.com) offers private in-home and corporate wine tastings.
