After spotting a turquoise necklace at an upscale department store, Alanna Bess created a similar look with some much-needed alterations. Alanna Bess jewelry launched in 2002, after Alanna received numerous complements from passerbyers and department store managers in her native Connecticut.

Using semi-precious stones like beer-quartz, citrine and peridot, Alanna created a chic, wearable line that can go from boardroom to ballroom. Alanna Bess jewelry gained instant popularity in New England, and by the end of the summer, Alanna secured 20 sales accounts at high-end boutiques in the area.



While still a student at Northeastern University, Alanna studied abroad and immersed herself in the arts and culture of Florence, Italy. There, she gained more appreciation for fine craftsmanship and unique design. The influence of Italian designers empowered Alanna to an even bolder sense of style and sophistication.



Then, in 2005, an internship led Alanna to New York City'ss fashion district, where her talents were recognized by several fashion innovators including Gustavo Arango. Moved by the whimsical designs of Alanna Bess jewelry, Gustavo started selling items at his upscale store in San Juan, Puerto Rico. 's8220;Now, Gustavo sends me color schemes that he wants me to focus on and sketches of his dresses which enable me to customize Alanna Bess creations for him.'s8221;



Alanna graduated Cum Laude from Northeastern University in May 2006 with a concentration in entrepreneurship and marketing. Currently, she is expanding the Alanna Bess line of jewelry for women and developing a men's8217;s collection.
