Two women, both tired of looking and falling victim to the rise and fall of women's jean waistbands, have developed a hip product to address the outbreak of "butt crack," panties pulled out the top of the wearer's lower garment, and the overflow of flesh above the waistband commonly called "muffin top."
Recognizing the growing need for a product that they and their daughters could use when wearing their low-rise jeans, Christine Meeks and Kelley DeSerpa, two stay-at-home Salinas moms
created the hip-T. After launching their product October 2007, they recently caught the attention of Donny Deutsch, host of CNBC's The Big Idea which airs nightly at 10pm PST. Their
segment aired Tuesday, May 21, 2008.
"We shaped and sculpted a hip wrap to conform to most ladies hip and waist areas offering coverage to the possible exposed rear view," Meeks said. The hip-T is the "bridge over troubled
waters", the perfect way to protect what lies beneath your denim investment in a comfortable fashion, leaving "behind" the T-shirt tangle and bulky layers. Others have commented on the
slimming effect felt by just the right amount of "grip around the hips without feeling like a girdle'". The younger set loves the versatility of layering color on color.
Southern cleavage not the problem, pull The Original hip-T up and over your bra for that extra color spot along the northern cleavage line. Bend over or kneel down, the hip-T has your
"assets covered"!
The hip-T has been quick to catch on and has made appearance on the ABC's View from the Bay, KSBW, KION, KCRA in Sacramento, Style Bakery with Alison Deyette, Better TV with Michelle
Madhock and CNBC's The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch. Other national TV shows and publications are also interested and talking with Meeks and DeSerpa.
