May 18, 2005 -- The American Conference Institute (ACI) announces today two sessions devoted to safeguarding and monitoring email and other electronic data in the financial industry will
form part of the Operational and Compliance Best Practices for Hedge Funds conference taking place on July 16th 2005 in New York.
The use, monitoring and retention or email and other electronic data in the financial industry is a major issue in the wake of recent corporate scandals. Legislators and industry
regulators have been taking steps to outline best practices and policies for securing and archiving sensitive electronic information.
The conference presentations represent the financial communities' first opportunity to understand the current position on compliance with respect to electronic communication as well as
offer an insight into the current regulatory perspective on the issue.
"Companies need to have a clear understanding of how to write and implement email retention policies commensurate to their firm's structure and size so they are prepared in the event of
an inspection." said Kelley Pelzer, Conference Director with ACI. "Getting the right systems in place to ensure early compliance could avoid investigations and possibly fines further down
the road."
The Best Practices for Hedge Funds conference takes place June 16th and 17th 2005 at the Marriott East Side Hotel, New York City. More information on these and other presentations can be
