Pro Mujer Peru Wins IDBs 2007 Award for Excellence in Microfinance

Pro Mujer Peru (http://www.iadb.org/foromic/), to be held in San Salvador on October 4. El Salvador's President, Antonio Saca, and IDB President Luis Alberto Moreno will present the award.

Founded in 1999, Pro Mujer Peru offers a wide range of services to women entrepreneurs, including several types of loans, access to saving accounts, business and health training, and healthcare through alliances with local clinics and hospitals. The institution also provides counseling and other care for women and families dealing with alcoholism and domestic violence.
