May 23rd 2006 National Bass Anglers Association Club Skeeter Winner for May

National Bass Anglers Association (NBAA) announces Ronald Hollon as the latest winner of the new Club Skeeter contest.

In a conversation earlier today Jack Horning NBAA's8217;s national director he said Ronald is a NBAA member from Ohio but loves to fish on Lake St Clair. For his efforts, he has won a clothing package from NBAA and Skeeter boats and will also be register for the grand prize to be drawn later this year. If you are a NBAA member and own a Skeeter boat make sure you register for a chance at these and other great prizes. It's8217;s easy and you can register on line. Remember, it doesn's8217;t matter how old of a Skeeter you have it just needs to be a Skeeter. Keep an eye out for the June winner, you never know it could be you.

Founded in Michigan 12 years ago by Karen and Skeeter Warner, NBAA has spread to several other states. In fact, the latest division to join with NBAA is based in Maine. 's8220;This is a great example of how NBAA is growing through the support of our great staff.'s8221; Horning said, 's8220;Don Watts recently had a seminar in Bangor, Maine. While he was out there, he had a chance to talk about the NBAA program to some of the local anglers and ended up signing on over 50 new members. One of these anglers has started a new division and we's8217;re up and rolling in Maine for this spring.'s8221;

's8220;We's8217;d like to thank all of the directors, sponsors and members for all they have done to make NBAA the circuit it is today,'s8221; said Jim Sprague, owner and Executive Director of NBAA 's8220;It's8217;s the members that are driving this incredible growth. They's8217;re spreading the word and letting us know what they want in a grassroots tournament trail. We's8217;ve introduced a number of new programs and incentives and a lot of these ideas come directly from the anglers. Jack and I have spent a lot of time at sport shows and open houses listening to what anglers have to say. We's8217;re looking into a number of new programs already for next year, so be sure to stay tuned.'s8221;

This grassroots approach to tournament angling has caught fire with anglers. The numbers show NBAA as the fastest growing tournament circuit in the nation . Just three years ago, NBAA had around 800 members and 27 separate divisions. Today, NBAA boasts well over 100 divisions, a director staff of nearly 200 avid anglers and a membership expected to approach 4000 tournament anglers. These numbers have also caught the eye of several national level sponsors including Skeeter, Yamaha, Solar Bats, Polaris, Minn Kota, Humminbird, Auto Value, Aqua Vu, and many more national, local, and regional sponsors.

About NBAA
National Bass Anglers Association is one of the largest and fastest growing grassroots tournament trails in the nation . All NBAA tournaments are designed to give the grassroots tournament anglers a shot at qualifying for big time tournaments by fishing locally. NBAA recognizes that not all anglers have the time to fish as much as they's8217;d like to, so a format was designed that lets anglers fish their local bodies of water to qualify for the NBAA National Championship Week held each spring. By fishing as few as 5 tournaments, local anglers can qualify to fish for one of the largest tournament payouts in team tournaments anywhere in the nation . Local tournaments offer a wide range of times and days to work around anglers busy schedules. Tournaments are offered in the weekends, during weekday evenings and even during the weekdays for 2nd and 3rd shift workers.
