The Bikini Ice Fishing Team is shocked at the warning e-mail from a trade show coordinator received the day before their historic appearance at the St. Paul Ice Fishing show. Billed as the biggest ice fishing show in the world, the Bikini Ice fishing Team were hired by several major manufactures in the ice fishing industry to make an appearance and sign autographs.
The day before the show, the girls appeared in studio at radio stations to promote several upcoming events. When the DJ'ss asked where else the public could see them, they simply added,
We'sll be at the St. Paul ice fishing show all weekend. Shortly after, the girls's manager and creator of the group Danny C., received an e-mail from the show coordinator threatening to
remove them from the building if any consumers complained. The e-mail also stated that the models could only be there during the last 3 hours of the show.
This is a plain case of sexual discrimination, states Danny C. Just because they are young beautiful woman does not give the trade show the right to tell the exhibitors when they can and
cannot work in their booths. Would they do the same to a good looking young man working at the show Danny C. further states. Of course not.
Several angry consumers filed into the show'ss business office to complain that they paid to get into the show and should be allowed to get the extremely popular girls to sign their
photos. After an entire day of tense negotiations, the show finally agreed to allow the girls to sign autographs, but were warned not to represent the show.
Despite poor weather, as one can expect in Minnesota in December, the show had a record attendance and is being considered the best so far. Our mission is to attract younger people to try
many of the great outdoor activities our country offers, especially ice fishing which we love, states team captain Bree Ann Burgy. The kids love us because we are friendly and fun and
they can relate to us, especially the little girls, Bree adds.
Outdoor activities have steadily decreased over the past 20 years and over all fishing numbers are down nation wide. The outdoor industry is trying new ideas to promote and attract the
generation Y kids, who are not participating in the outdoors like the baby boomers have.
The Bikini Ice Fishing Team is a promotional group started by Exotica Swimwear president Danny C. to promote his brand of sexy swimwear and to expand the awareness of ice fishing and
outdoor activities.
