The North Carolina Fishing Pier Society goal'ss is to spread the word about what is happening to the piers and to reverse trend. In 1996 there were 32 fishing piers in the state. By 2001
that number was reduced to 25 today there is only 20 with one set to close this fall.
North Carolina beaches are becoming privatized right before our very eyes. The public is losing boat ramps, parking, walkovers as well as fishing piers. Joining the group is free. To find
