Kansas City based Leap Hospitality has been awarded the food management contract for Overland Park'ss new $36 million Soccer Complex. The soccer complex, complete with 12 all-weather synthetic turf fields, lights, wireless Internet access, and more is the only one of its kind in the country. It will host local, regional, and national soccer tournaments.
The City of Overland Park made a commitment to construct the highest quality soccer venue in the nation, said Mike Laplante Manager of Soccer Complex Operations. Part of that commitment
is to also deliver a quality run foodservice operation, added Laplante.
Situated inside the complex will be three Caf's233;'ss managed by Leap Hospitality. Leap will be responsible for all facets of operations including marketing, staffing, kitchen design,
menu development, catering, branding, and operations. The caf's233;'ss will offer more restaurant style food with a healthier alternative for players, coaches, referees, and spectators.
Inside each Cafe will be a cooking technology that doesn'st need fryers, broilers, or hoods delivering the greenest most environmentally healthy cooking process available.
Soccer officials, parents, and coaches have all stated that providing a broader range of healthy food choices was important, said Laplante. This is another unique aspect of the soccer
complex that we hope will meet with the approval of coaches, and especially parents.
Menu items will include salads, wraps, fruits, and specialty sandwiches along with traditional park fare. We are thrilled to be associated with such a fantastic project and look forward
to assisting the city of Overland Park to deliver an exceptional experience at the soccer complex, said Leap Hospitality President Pat Phelan. We couldn'st have picked a better team to be
involved with when it comes to foodservice. Leap hit the ground running once they were awarded the project and haven'st looked back since, said Laplante. Potential future conveniences the
Caf's233;'ss will offer are text message and online ordering as well as creative food programs with the family and athletes in mind.
The soccer complex grand opening will be August 29, 2009 from 6:30 to 8:30 and is open to the public with the first tournament schedule to take place on September 5 -7, 2009. Leap
Hospitality will be accepting applications for all positions beginning July 7th. Please refer to www.leaphospitality.com to apply and find out
