Tefft Cellars Experiences Continued Success with Two New Wine Medals

June 23, 2005 -- Tefft Cellars proudly announces the winery recently won two medals at the Central Washington State Fair. The 2002 Tefft Cellars Merlot won gold while the 2000 Cabernet-Sauvignon, already an award winning wine, won silver. The 2002 Merlot will be poured Saturday June 25th during the Sunshine and Wine Festival in Yakima at the fair grounds. "The 2002 Merlot is a very popular wine and is nearly sold out, so we will be releasing our 2003 Merlot shortly," assured Joel Tefft, owner and winemaker. Be sure to make plans to attend the Sunshine and Wine Festival so you can sample these wines before they are gone.

Tefft Cellars, owned by Joel and Donna Tefft, has been a mainstay in the Yakima Valley wine region for more than fourteen (14) years making it one of the more established wineries in the area. Joel has a passion for making quality wines that every palette can enjoy. Mr. Tefft, adds, "Summer is the perfect time to sip on a cool Chenin Blanc, Pinot Grigio or our popular Rosey Outlook. Of course, we have a variety of red wines for the die-hard red fans as well, including our award winning 2002 Merlot, 2000 Cabernet-Sauvignon and 2002 Villa Toscana."

The Tefft Cellars facility has also recently undergone a few renovations. "We have added a solarium to the tasting room area to offer more room for large groups to taste wine with tables and chairs for guests to sit inside and enjoy a glass of wine with their packed lunch. We have also enhanced the parking area with a large, paved lot. The lot is large enough for even tour busses or limousines to navigate easily," explained Mr. Tefft. Of course, Tefft Cellars maintains their beautiful two-level deck over-looking their Impressionist Artistic Tribute Mural.
