Discover Cultural Series Features Wines From Italy May 1

April 25, 2005 -- The Atlanta Wine School will continue its Discover! Cultural Series with a tasting of wines from diverse Italian climes Sunday, May 1, 2005, at the Signature Events Ballroom in Dunwoody.

Representing most of the 20 sub-regions of Italy, the wines will be accompanied by Italian foods, art, and music during Discover Italy! from 3 to 6 p.m. From native wines like Barolo, Brunello di Montalcino and Gavi to more mainstream selections such as the Super Tuscans and Super Whites, the event will feature more than 100 wines for participants to experience. A selection of coffees provided by MochaMyDay Mobile Espresso will also be available.

"The connection between wine and food is strong in most parts of the world, but never so true in Italy where they are rarely thought of independently," according to Michael Bryan, executive director of the Atlanta Wine School. "Tuscan olives and oils, cheeses from Piedmont and Emilia-Romagna, as well as other gastronomic delights, will be brought in to complement the wine selection and the participants' enjoyment," Bryan added.

The tasting is open to the general public age 21 and above. Tickets cost $40 in advance and $45 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased at www.atlantawineschool.com or by calling 770-668-0435. Checks or major credit cards are accepted. The Signature Events Ballroom is located at 8601 Dunwoody Place, Atlanta, GA 30350. For directions and event information call 770-668-0435 or visit www.atlantawineschool.com.

The Atlanta Wine School and The Wine Report are founding sponsors of the Discover Series and Discover Italy! Supporting sponsors of Discover Italy! are La Tavola Trattoria, Palm Bay Imports, Ice Caters, Blaine Travel, MochaMyDay Mobile Espresso and LocalWineEvents.com.
