Steamboat luxury lodging company, Moving Mountains Chalets, is experiencing triple digit growth in advance of the coming winter season which bodes well for the local ski industry looking for signs of economic recovery.
Since the end of last ski season, Moving Mountains Chalets increased inventory of luxury vacation homes they manage by over 50 percent. Owner Robin Craigen attributes this growth to
second-home owners and developers reevaluating their holding strategies, and their company's8217;s reputation for offering the finest luxury homes and hospitality services
's8220;In the current slow real estate market smart owners are realizing that Vacation Home Rental offers the opportunity to develop a revenue stream that enhances the value of their home
and provides income to defer the costs of ownership,'s8221; Craigen said. 's8220;With the homes that we currently manage representing the best that Steamboat has to offer, Moving
Mountains is a natural first choice for owners of the many spectacular new properties available.'s8221;
Moving Mountains Chalets has also been chosen to represent the owners of a select number of private, whole ownership residences at One Steamboat Place - A Signature Development of Timbers
Resorts. The slope-side Private Residences redefine luxury vacation lodging in Steamboat and significantly elevate the status of the ski area as a World-Class vacation destination.
In response to this growth, Moving Mountains has added two new positions to their management staff.
Alex Pallut joins Moving Mountains as Guest Services Manager providing for all the guest's8217;s pre-arrival activity reservations and services. Alex brings experience as a regional
manager and guide at Backroads, a market leader in luxury active travel.
Riley Polumbus takes on a new position as Marketing and Communications manager. Riley will be responsible for the Moving Mountains website, www.movingmountains.com, and other online marketing as well as public relations and advertising. Riley comes to the company with eight years of public
relations and web content management experience in Steamboat Springs.
's8220;Alex and Riley bring strengths and experience to our staff team that emphasize our desire to maintain a high level of service and continuing to exceed guest expectations as we
grow,'s8221; Craigen added.
About Moving Mountains Chalets
Robin and Heather Craigen launched Moving Mountains Chalets 12 years ago as the first fully-catered chalet product aimed at the U.S. domestic skier. They started with one home which is
still in their inventory listed as the Creekside Chalet. They grew from just the two of them running one chalet to 15 employees representing over 30 luxury rental properties exclusively
in Steamboat.
In 2002 Moving Mountains launched a second company, Moving Mountains Catering Co. Combined year round staff has increased to 15 and they will employ nearly twenty people to run the
business through the ski season.
