One Two Three Dinner Helps Busy Households Save Time and Money

May 2, 2005 -- One...Two...Three...DINNER, which recently opened in Briarcliff Manor, helps busy people save time and money with fresh meals that are wholesome and easy to prepare. One...Two...Three... DINNER (as featured on ABC's Eyewitness News) puts the fun back in to meal preparation while encouraging families to gather around the dinner table to savor fresh, hearty dinners.

"We help take the stress out of the daily worry about the question 'what's for dinner' especially after a long day at the office, driving children to activities or caring for an aging parent," said One...Two...Three...DINNER's founder Margie Shumel. "Feeding a family or even hosting a dinner party has never been easier. And, because you're preparing the food yourself, you can adjust the ingredients to your own needs and preferences."

One...Two...Three...DINNER is the first establishment in New York State to tap into the growing trend of "meal assembly." A recent study conducted by the Food Marketing Institute concluded that the primary frustrations of consumers centered on the hassle of planning meals and long preparation times. In its report, "Foodservice 2010: America's Appetite Matures," the blue-chip consulting firm McKinsey & Company predicts that that the 36 million "Gen X'ers" will embrace "meal assembly" as a way of preparing home cooked meals within their busy work schedules.

One...Two...Three...DINNER offers a monthly selection of extensively-tested entres, available for review on its website at www.onetwothreedinner.com. The ingredients are pre-cut and ready to be assembled in a simple, fast and fun process. Helpful staff members are always on-hand to help customers adapt recipes to suit individual tastes.

Customers choose their meals and schedule a preparation session at the 1,700 square foot state-of-the-art facility, designed to replicate the feeling of being in someone's personal kitchen. Surrounded by bright yellow walls, there are six islands of 24 work stations and a cozy sitting area with a hearth.

All ingredients are fresh, natural, and preservative-free, never processed. Entre selections include Baked Flounder with Mustard Crumbs, Poppy Seed Chicken Breasts, Pumpkin Ravioli Bake, Mexican Layered Enchiladas, Mediterranean Chicken, and Korean-Style Skirt Steak. Child-friendly dishes include Macaroni and Cheese, Crispy Chicken Chunks, and Old-Fashioned Sloppy Joes. All meals can be tailored to suit particular tastes. Cost ranges from $3.85 per serving on an eight-meal package ($185 total) to $4.33 per serving on a five-meal package ($130 total). Entre selections serve up to six people.

An eight-meal session takes about an hour and a half. Once created, take your meals home and put them in the freezer. Choose your desired meal in the morning, defrost and follow the simple cooking instructions on the label provided.

"One...Two...Three...DINNER makes it easy and economical to serve a delicious meal without planning, shopping, chopping, or cleaning up," said Shumel. "That leaves more time for the important things, like relaxing over meals with your family."

In addition to easing everyday meal preparations, this one-of-a-kind Westchester establishment also offers a unique destination for girls' night out, bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, corporate team building events, and other functions. Home delivery, gift certificates, and assembled meals to order are also available.

One....TwoThree...DINNER is located at 103 North State Road, Briarcliff, NY. For more information, please call (914) 923-6200 or visit www.onetwothreedinner.com.
