Park City Real Estate Community Talisker Club Wins 2009 UltimateChef...

Three chefs representing Park City real estate (http://www.talisker.com/park-city-real-estate.php) community Talisker Club took home top honors at the 2009 Ultimate Chef Challenge. The challenge is an Iron Chef-style competition hosted by Utah company Nicholas 's38; Company during their annual food show at the South Towne Expo Center.

Clement Gelas and Tuhaye Table Caf's233; Sous Chef Maria Mantilla - bested three other trios comprised of top chefs from several of Utah'ss preeminent dining establishments including Tuscany, Franck'ss, Fresco, Trios and Luganos.

For the competition, each team was given 90 minutes to create four to six dishes utilizing a secret ingredient - beef. All dishes were judged for flavor, presentation and originality by an esteemed panel including respected food critics Mary Malouf from Salt Lake Magazine and Ted Scheffler from City Weekly and renowned restaurateur Lucy Cardenas, owner of The Red Iguana.

Talisker Club'ss chefs earned their victory by presenting six innovative dishes:

1.    Surf and Turf: Kona Coffee Marinated Beef Skewered, Maine Lobster, Confit Garlic Cr's232;me

2.    Fraiche Filet Mignon Tartar: Pickle Radish Salad, Sunny Side Egg Toast, Togarashi Spice

3.    Shepherd Paille: Slow Braised, Cilantro, Potatoes Foam Consomm's233;: Oxtail, Star Anis, Chive

4.    Bloody Mary Salad: Grilled Rib Eye, Bloody Mary Vinaigrette, Celery Salad, Cardamom Jus

5.    Thyme and Shallot Roasted: Yorkshire Pudding, Wasabi Creamed Spinach, Port Demi Sauce

It was exciting to represent Talisker Club and compete against some of Utah'ss top culinary talents. We are all extremely proud to have earned this honor and believe it helps further confirm that we have accomplished our goal of bringing unparalleled cuisine to the members of Talisker Club, said Chef Murcko. As winners, Chefs Murcko, Gelas and Mantilla will be invited to participate in Chefdance 2010. This exclusive 10-night dining experience hosted annually in Park City during the Sundance Film Festival is revered by food lovers, and in the past has been headlined by a number of celebrity chefs including Tyler Florence and Rocco DiSpirito.

Talisker Club'ss victory at the Ultimate Chef Challenge comes on the heels of its recognition as Best of the Best Mountain Resort Community in the June 2009 issue of Robb Report. The Deer Valley real estate (http://www.talisker.com/deer-valley-real-estate.php) community spans 10,000 acres near Deer Valley's174; Resort.

Talisker recently broke on a new casual tapas bar and lounge in downtown Park City. Called Talisker on Main it will be the club'ss first dining establishment accessible to non-members. The restaurant is expected to open in early 2010 and will feature the significant talents and tastes of Chef Murcko and his team that currently only Talisker Club members are privileged to enjoy.
