April 24, 2005 -- Taste of Somerset is being held on Monday, April 25th at the Bridgewater Manor. The culinary event's purpose is to raise funds and awareness for The PeopleCare Center in
Somerset County. The Center is a non profit which provides a physical plant to house non-profit agencies and organizations at below market costs and thus helps maximize community service
goals by encouraging sharing of resources.
Taste of Crete, a new local Bridgewater gourmet food company, whose marquee product is a gourmet extra virgin olive oil from Crete, Greece, will be one of the participants for the
fundraiser.
Esther Luongo Psarakis, founder of Taste of Crete states: "We are excited to be part of this premier culinary fundraiser for several reasons. Firstly, it is for a great cause that
positively impacts everyone in Somerset County. Secondly, it allows the attendees to be introduced to our extra virgin olive oil, as well as see how it is used in recipes from Crete, a
foundation of the healthy Mediterranean Diet. Lastly, it gives us a chance to promote the local gourmet/specialty and wine shops in Somerset County and surrounding areas that are carrying
Taste of Crete Extra Virgin Olive Oil"
