This fall millions of new faces will descend upon college campuses nationwide. Rather than searching for the dorms, the library or math building, this group will be headed for the
stadium; the group, college football fans. While they will not be trying to find the way to class they still need directions to the tailgates, campus attractions, restaurants, and hotels
that are an important part of the football gameday experience.
MapGameDay.com is a social mapping site that uses Google'ss mapping technology to highlight places near the stadium. Fans can choose from existing places, add new places to the map, and
create custom gameday maps showing places that they wish to visit. These maps can be emailed to friends or added to webpages.
With the growth of on campus tailgating parties, and college administrators working to provide family friendly tailgate areas, MapGameDay.com offers fans a visual view of the new areas,
as well as gameday alternatives.
For out of town fans, MapGameDay.com provides a database of restaurants, and hotels as well as a review system to recommend favorites.
MapGameDay.com includes campus maps for over 180 college campuses nationwide, including all of the Division I schools and most Division IA schools. College stadiums are shown using high
resolution satellite images where available, allowing fans to zoom in and mark the location of seats in the stadium.
NFL Football fans will enjoy NFL.MapGameDay.com which includes stadium maps for all 32 of the NFL teams.
