GreenFields Synthetic Turf for new Dallas Cowboys Stadium

The first official soccer game at the stadium was on 19th July for the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup; the main competition for national soccer teams in North America. The Cowboys Stadium is the largest retractable roof stadium in the NFL (National Football League) and has a unique infrastructure. A total of 41 interchangeable panels allow the sports field to be transformed into three different configurations for American Football, High School Football or Professional Soccer. The field can be converted in 24 hours and the panels can be rolled up and stored below the stadium when not in use. Cowboys Stadium is the first sporting facility in the United States with a multiple-field capability. Any successful arena complex must have the ability to host a diverse range of events and this was achieved with the SoftTop's8482; roll-up system developed and patented by Sportfield LLC. The soccer turf supplied by GreenFields provides the surface component of the sports system for soccer.
