TheFanYard.com a breakthrough in social networking and sports information, has officially launched the beta version to the general public, in conjunction with the start of the 07' NFL season.

TheFanYard.com is a new web site and concept where fans of NFL and NCAA Football can post and debate their weekly predictions on game outcomes. TheFanYard.com has integrated a host of social networking tools, while allowing users to track their predictions, accuracy and the accuracy of others on the site.

"What we have accomplished with The FanYard.com is built the first site dedicated to football fans, where they can post and debate their predictions," stated Rick Perreault, TheFanYard.com Founder. "The rise of social networking sites has left a void for football fans, which remains one of the most watched and enjoyed sports in North America today according to Gallup."

TheFanYard.com aggregates fans' predictions on a game to calculate the "Yardstick". This "Yardstick" application calculates the margin of victory, as projected by the community. The "Yardstick" provides a new barometer of public opinion, a unique alternative to the Vegas point-spread for fans of the game and media looking for in-game story angles.

"The Yardstick has already proven to be a very successful tool in the early going," continued Perreault. "The community has accurately predicted 14 of the 16 games during the NFL Week 4 pre-season, a trend which we hope will continue as the regular season progresses."
