WheyUP, the Original Protein Drink with Energy, is proud to announce a partnership with the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League. Under the new agreement, WheyUP becomes the "official sports drink" of the Arizona Rattlers. As sponsor, WheyUP will have a significant presence at select Rattlers home games at U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix.
The Rattlers are one of the AFL's most successful franchises. The Rattlers were Arena Bowl champions in 1994 and 1997, and reached the title game another three times. In 2006, ESPN
announced the purchase of a minority stake in the AFL. The deal included television rights for the ESPN family of networks, and enhanced the global exposure of the league. Many current
National Football League players, including Kurt Warner of the Arizona Cardinals, got their start in the AFL.
"We're really excited about this partnership with the Arizona Rattlers," said WheyUP's inventor and co-founder Erik Rothchild. "The team has a great tradition here in Phoenix. They were
Arizona's first pro team to ever win a championship. We are pleased to be associated with such a successful sports franchise."
WheyUP represents a breakthrough in the sports drink market. It combines 20 grams of whey protein with an energy formula in a sugar-free, non-carbonated beverage. WheyUP is sold in
ready-to-drink 16-ounce plastic bottles and 12 packs in two flavors: wild berry and tropical citrus.
"WheyUP is a great product, and this is a partnership that makes total sense for the Rattlers," said Brett Bouchy, Operating Partner for the Arizona Rattlers. "Our players go through a
grueling process getting ready for an upcoming game. WheyUP is a great sports beverage that provides the energy that players need to get through tough practices, but it also has the
protein and amino acids to help their bodies recover."
