PokerMac Releases the First Review of Party Pokers New Mac Poker Client
Poker-Mac (http://www.poker-mac.com), well recognized as the industry leading information marketplace for the Macintosh, OS X based online poker enthusiast, today releases their full review of the King of online poker, Party Poker'ss brand new Java client.
The Party Poker Java client (still in beta version of development) has just been released, and Poker-Mac (http://www.poker-mac.com) and Party Poker want you to take it for a test drive. We'sd love to know what you like or where we could make some changes.
Because there'ss no software to download, people can play poker on any PC that has a browser. This includes Intel/AMD CPU PCs running Windows OSes, but importantly now opens the Party Poker tables to Mac users on Safari, Firefox or Internet Explorer (is anyone still using it) On the beta version, people can play play money games and watch real money games -- it'ss a great way to get a taste of the action that'ss happening 24/7 on PartyPoker.com. Of course, if people want all the features of PartyPoker.com -- including access to real money games -- just download the full application. Naturally, any beta version will have a few kinks, but we hope people will help us test the Beta and then tell us how it performed.
This last bit of information is key. The beta client is ready for testing, and play money play -- but not for real money players. Nonetheless, it is looking great. At first glance, it appears nearly identical to the download version, and the Party Poker team seems to be hard at working putting in the final touches (including real money support).
In the past Mac players have played at Java client'ss provided by the ongame network, and downloadable clients from Full Tilt Poker and Games Grid. Mac players have benefited from statistical software such as MacPoker Pro (http://www.freemacpokerpro.com) just like their PC opponents, but this Java client opens up access to the multitudes of fish swimming in the Party Poker waters.
