Absolute Poker Mirrors Big One in Vegas with WSAP

Poker fans who aren't heading to Las Vegas for this year's World Series of Poker* can still be a part of the excitement beginning today. Absolute Poker today launched the World Series of Absolute Poker (http://www.absolutepoker.com/wsap/), a new schedule of nightly tournaments that mirrors the WSOP* schedule and offers up an enticing assortment of cash and prizes.

"We've cloned the best parts of the world's most prestigious poker tournament and put them online," stated David Clainer, Senior Vice President for Absolute Poker. "Online poker players can expect a lot of variety, several guarantees, and the chance to play for some monster prizes."

Between May 30th and July 3rd, Absolute Poker (http://www.absolutepoker.com) will host a nightly tournament at 9:20pm ET. The WSAP schedule mirrors the most popular games of the land-based Vegas schedule and includes No Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, Stud Hi-Lo Limit, and a variety of other poker games.

But it's not entirely about the bright lights of Sin City. Absolute Poker will also award an Aruba Poker Classic prize package to the player who wins the most cash by playing WSAP events and to any player who wins three WSAP events in a row. The 2008 Aruba Poker Classic will be held from September 27th through October 4th at the Radisson Aruba Resort and Casino.

Also added to the mix is a four-week pass to Absolute Poker's $150,000 Guaranteed Weekly tournament for the player who final tables the most WSAP events. The four-week pass includes one Super Saturday $325,000 Guaranteed Event (http://www.absolutepoker.com/promotions/super-saturday.asp).
