January 24, 2005 -- The Reality ,the Unreal 3 and the Oblivion engine. All three are poised to refine the graphic standards for games. The Reality engine for instance has a depth of field
effect, which is applied to textures. This results in a wall looking like a wall instead of a combination of red and grey lines. Also promising is the way the Reality engine simulates the
response of the human eye. In a dark environment the colour hue will shift a bit to blue. Just like the human eye reacts. I personally believe that this could make gaming a lot more
intense. Both the Unreal 3 and the Reality engine are supporting PS3.0 which maybe gives Nvidia cards a little edge.
The monsters displayed by the Unreal 3 engine are so astonishing in detail that you would almost forget to shoot them. The shooting will not happen for some time though, because games
from these engines will take at least till 2006 before they will be ready. But lucky for us the screenshots are already here.
