NubyTech Introduces Rating System for Video Game Peripherals

January 19, 2005 -- Naturally, NubyTech's Mortal Kombat Kontrollers are tailored with graphics depicting violent scenes, since the official joy pad wouldn't do justice to the original game franchise otherwise. Also natural is the bloody aspect of the Chainsaw Controller for Resident Evil 4 and the sexy attitude of the Dead or Alive girls on their limited edition controllers. This can't be avoided, since the company aims at being as loyal and faithful as possible to the content of the original franchise when creating its collectible items. NubyTech's teen and adult fans wouldn't have it any other way.



"Mature-themed products will always be subject to controversy," says Paul Chen, President and COO of NubyTech. "This led to our decision to create an appropriate rating system, filling a gap in the gaming industry." Software is rated by the ESRB to keep parents informed of the title's content, yet peripherals are not required to be either censored or black-listed. But until NubyTech entered the picture, they've also never been so closely related to a particular game's universe. Taking a pro-active approach, the company will now responsibly classify all its upcoming products using the following rating system:

N = Naughty - suggested for ages 18 and up.

U = Universal - suitable for all ages.

B = Bloody - suggested for ages 17 and up.

Y = Young Adults - suggested for ages 13 and up.



Fans can rest easy however, as NubyTech intends to continue delivering shocking and hard core gaming gear where appropriate.
