Binion's casino is opening a new era in the world of poker this week by opening the Women in Poker Hall of Fame. While poker is regarded by some as a man's game, the days of the road gambler and Wild West are behind us now.

Women have been playing and contributing to the sport, and now the best women players will be recognized for their accomplishments. On Saturday February 2, at 11 a.m., four inaugural inductees will be enshrined in the WiPHOF.

The ceremony will be hosted by Mike Sexton, and takes place at Benny's Bullpen inside of Binion's Casino in Las Vegas. Linda Johnson, Barbara Enright, Susie Isaacs and Marsha Waggoner will be the four ladies honored at that day for their contributions to the poker world.

Future candidates for induction into the Hall will have to pass a list of requirements in order to be eligible for consideration. Those requirements include having been active as a player or industry leader at some time during a period beginning 15 years prior to election.

They must be a player or industry leader who has contributed to the world of poker in some significant way. Either by winning major tournaments, making significant contributions to the industry of poker.

And finally, they must be a player or industry leader who is a proponent of women's poker. Even is she does not play in women only events, she must support them.

Saturday after the ceremony there will be a Celebration Tournament at 2 p.m. It will be a $500 + $60 NLHE Open Event.
