A Unique Opportunity 3 days of Beautiful Custom Firearms in Reno NV...



The Engravers Guild and the Gunmakers Guild plan to make the 25th exhibition a special event. In 1985 the two associations joined efforts to present a venue to showcase the work of their memberships. The quality and artistic expression of projects displayed have continued to surpass the preceding years.



Special features for this special anniversary year exhibition will include displays by members of the American Bladesmith Society including well-known knifemakers Al Pendray, Red St. Cyr, Jay Hendrickson, Charlie Ochs and others. These craftsmen of the forged blade will showcase their unique one-of-a-kind hand-forged knives. Back again will be members of the Contemporary Longrifle Association including Ron Scott and Jim Chambers. Contemporary muzzleloading and shooting accoutrements fascinate every history and shooting fan.



The special historical display of custom guns rarely seen will provide a not-to-miss opportunity for all who appreciate fine guns. The focus for this display will be post WWII custom makers who shaped the trends of modern gunmaking. One of Jack O'sConnor'ss personal .270s will be available to examine.



Each year a lucky $20 ticket holder wins a special project created to show the public the artistry of custom guns. Perhaps someone who might not be able to commission a custom firearm will be the proud owner of 'sThe Special Hornet.'s The winner (who does not have to be present) will own 'sThe Special Hornet,'s including the unique Damascus knife and the leather case. The Firearms Engravers Guild of America will present seminars with the presenters and FEGA members generously sharing information acquired from decades of hands on experience. FEGA distributes many books about engraving and engravers. Castings of beautiful engraving examples can be purchased for study or decoration at www.FEGA.com. The following topics will be presented on Monday January 26th 8am -Noon. Lee Griffiths -Tools and Techniques of Sculpting, Mike Dubber - Lettering and Borders and Bob Strosin - Preparing and Finishing Firearms. Seminars are free and open to the public.



The American Custom Gunmakers Guild seminars on January 26th will run form 8:30 am -11:30 am. Gary Goudy will discuss and show his DVD on leather covered recoil pads, James Dubell will answer questions after showing his DVD on re-boring and re-rifling.
