The Telly Awards honors the best local, regional and cable television commercials, as well as the finest video and film productions.
The Running On Empty team is headed by writer/director/executive producer Nitara Lee Osbourne of Chandler, Arizona. Osbourne and her team of Arizona filmmakers, are in the process of moving the award-winning story from development into pre-production of a full feature film.
"We were thrilled to be recognized out of 13,000 entries for this competition, but what is even more amazing is that we won two awards before our project has entered into principal photography," said Osbourne. "This honor is a reflection of the dedicated effort of our hard-working and talented crew. We have a great team and I'm honored to work with them on this exciting project."
Running On Empty tells the story of young and athletic Sydney Harris (Kathleen Benner) who was told she only has six months to live unless she and her husband (Jose Rosete) can come up with the money for her medical treatment. Through her financial searching, she begins to question her existence and does some soul searching, only to find herself falling in love with a single mom (Rachel Owens).
Even though the feature film has not been completed, Arizona R.O.E. Productions, LLC and the Running On Empty production team have been involved in a number of promotional and community events, such as the Running 4 the Cure event at the Cash Inn. Part of the proceeds from this event went to Body Positive to support HIV and AIDS research. Additional events to benefit the gay and lesbian community are also being planned.
