PNC Recognized by DiversityInc as Noteworthy Company



PNC was recognized today by DiversityInc as one of the publication'ss 2007 's25 Noteworthy Companies.'s DiversityInc is a daily web site and monthly magazine that provides news, resources and commentary on the role of diversity in corporations. Also, as part of its seventh annual rankings, DiversityInc included PNC on its annual list of 'sTop 10 Companies for African Americans's announced last month.



This marks the first year for PNC to participate in DiversityInc'ss survey. Noteworthy Companies are defined by the publication as those companies that demonstrate the potential to make the publication'ss prestigious Top 50 in the next few years. Ten of this year'ss Top 50 Companies were on the publication'ss Noteworthy Companies list last year.



A total of 317 companies participated in the competition this year by responding to a 230-question survey used to determine consistent strength in four categories: CEO Commitment (the most heavily weighted), Human Capital, Corporate Communications and Supplier Diversity. Company rankings include Top 50, 25 Noteworthy Companies, and nine specialty lists.



PNC has launched a number of initiatives to advance organization changes to incorporate diversity into all best practices, said Kathy D'sAppolonia, manager of work/life and diversity for PNC. Diversity is a core corporate value at PNC, and we remain committed to recruiting, developing and retaining a diverse leadership team and overall workforce.
