State of Florida Awards Grant to Florida Association of Community Health Centers and USMD

The State of Florida has awarded a rural Provider Service Network (PSN) developmental grant to the Florida Association of Community Health Centers (FACHC) and USMD. FACHC and USMD will be developing the foundation, network and creating the administrative and service infrastructure necessary to become a PSN to serve the medical needs of Medicaid populations in rural areas of Florida.

FACHC provides a strong history and dedication to serving underserved populations throughout the State of Florida through its member Community Health Centers. FACHCs members are both familiar with and skilled in serving Medicaid recipients throughout the state. USMD provides healthcare technology and a strong history of medical management of Medicaid populations. USMD'ss model provides Practice Management, Electronic Medical Records and Chronic Care technology to the centers to give them the tools for effective patient management. They then deploy managed care services, such as Case Management and Disease Management around the technology to provide comprehensive approach to patient care.

This partnership provides a complete approach to meeting the needs of Floridians, said Andrew Behrman, President and CEO of FACHC, It allows us to provide our member Community Health Centers with additional tools to provide high-quality services to their patients.
