National Society of Genetic Counselors Releases Statement on Murderof...

The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) condemns the tragic murder of Dr. George Tiller. There is no justification for this appalling and tragic act. Dr. Tiller compassionately supported women'ss rights to safe, legal and appropriate medical care. With the closing of Dr. Tiller'ss clinic, the ability of women to access this care has unfortunately been impacted significantly. While personal opinions may vary on abortion, all groups must denounce this crime and other tactics that terrorize health care providers.

Dr. Tiller supported the work of genetic counselors around the world and was a strong supporter of NSGC. NSGC wishes to express our sincere condolences to his family, friends, coworkers and colleagues in their time of loss.
