Day of Clay with Central Maine Clay Artists: Saturday May 30, 2009 12 - 3pm


As a part of ongoing summer programming, The Center for Maine Craft (http://www.mainecrafts.org/) is thrilled to host Day of Clay with the Central Maine Clay Artists, 12 - 3pm, May 30, 2009 (Rain date: Sun. 5/31). The Central Maine Clay Artists are a dynamic group of potters and clay artists that joined forces to promote clay art in the local, craft and larger communities.


(Vocus) May 14, 2009 -- As a part of ongoing summer programming, The Center for Maine Craft (http://www.mainecrafts.org/) is thrilled to host Day of Clay with the Central Maine Clay Artists, 12 - 3pm, May 30, 2009 (Rain date: Sun. 5/31). The Central Maine Clay Artists are a dynamic group of potters and clay artists that joined forces to promote clay art in the local, craft and larger communities. On May 30th seven members of the group will demonstrate their various ceramic techniques, including wheel throwing, hand building, slab work, glazing, and wax resist. Additionally, the artist will bring carloads of new and exciting inventory to sell during the one day event! Mark your calendars and plan to stop by for a fun, educational day of clay.

The Day of Clay event and all summer programming take place at the Center for Maine Craft in West Gardiner and are free and open to the public. On a sunny day please join us out on the lawn!

The Center for Maine Craft: A Maine Crafts Association Project


The Maine Crafts Association, a non-profit organization, encourages growth and increased awareness of the significant role craft artists play in Maine'ss culture, economy and heritage. Revenue generated by sales at The Center for Maine Craft helps to fulfill the Association'ss mission.



The Center for Maine Craft is located in the West Gardiner Travel Plaza. The Travel Plaza is also home to clean facilities, a small market, Starbucks and several eateries. The West Gardiner Service Plaza is conveniently located immediately off I-295 's38;95 on Route 126: Exit 103 from 95 South; Exit 102 from 95 North; Exit 51 from I-295.
