Mark of Westminster Premier Chess Boards

April 29, 2005 -- To the connoisseur and average individual, chess is a more than just a game; it is art. Mark of Westminster has long recognized this and has been one of the leading manufacturers of midrange to high-end chess pieces and boards with excellent attention to detail and quality.    




To complement their extensive chess piece collection, Mark of Westminster introduced the 2005 model premier chessboard line in Spring of 2004. Their goal: offer high quality chess boards that compliment any set of chess pieces with an exclusive design that is pleasing to the eye without being overwhelming or distracting, thus maintaining the functionality of a chess set.    




Crafted in a state of the art European facility, Mark of Westminster Premier chess boards are 1" thick, 50% thicker than most other standard boards. They use the finest woods and each edge has a signature Mark of Westminster black curvature molding. To prevent scratching, there are felt pad feet on the underside of each board as well as the prestigious Mark of Westminster logo and certificate of authenticity with limited edition production serial number.



After the resounding success of that launch, Mark of Westminster has announced new styles for the 2005-2006 season. Expanding on their successful design, they have added a European Walnut and Maple chessboard to the line that already includes Wengue, Mahogany, and Black Lacquer. In addition, building off of the success and popularity of the Mahogany Maple Mosaic design, each chessboard will now have a mosaic separating the playing surface from the border, adding additional flair without distracting from game play.
