January 22, 2005 -- Valentines Day is meant to be the special day when we show our love, often by means of a poem, flowers, chocolates or underwear. Unfortunately, research shows that as
many as 45% of gifts bought by men for their loved ones, are either not used at all, are returned for an alternative size or in some cases exchanged for an alternative gift.
Online shopping continues to grow in the UK, with an estimated 11.5m people having high speed internet access from home. Valentines Day is expected to follow in the steps of Christmas
2004 in which almost 75% of women, and 61% of men bought Christmas gifts online.1
A new website has been launched in an effort to reduce the number of Valentines Day presents, although bought with loving intentions, from being returned to retailers.
www.SweetValentines.co.uk is aimed at women who would like to drop a subtle hint to their loved one, in the hope of receiving a present they want, not what their men think they want.
SweetValentines.co.uk lists over 34,000 products in categories including;
-Bath and Relaxation Gifts
-Chocolate Lovers
-Flowers
-Gadgets
-Jewellery Ideas
-Lingerie For Loved Ones
-Perfume and Aftershave
-Teddy Bears
-Unique Valentines Experiences
-Wine
Each item has a DROP A HINT option, which when selected will allow the viewer to send details of the gift directly to their loved one. Surfers can also add a personalised message to help
steer their loved ones to the type of gift or, in the case of Lingerie and Jewellery, the all important size information.
Although the website only first appeared online in January 2005, www.SweetValentines.co.uk is already proving to be a hugely popular with hundreds of people already leaving hints for
their loved ones.
