New Website Supports Native American Art and Culture

For many people, the image of Native Americans is something that is embedded their collective minds as a part of the Old West, but in reality, Native American culture is a rich and wonderful part of indigenous American society.

Irene and Denis Fournier, Native American entrepreneurs, are sharing the beauty of their heritage with people on the World Wide Web through their new online endeavor www.NativesJewels.com.

We have a passion for anything Native, began Irene Fournier. We have many wonderful Native artists that we feature on our site and their work is just stunning.

Launching in late December 2008, the site has cultivated an impressive catalog of wearable art such as earrings, necklaces, rings, watches, bracelets and belt buckles. The creative process is something that you can see on the site, said Fournier. There are always new products added to the many categories on NativesJewels.com.

We'sre also looking into expanding our product line to include artifacts, pottery and paintings. It'ss something to think about for the future.

Along with a new site, Fournier has also launched www.NativeJewelryBlog.com, a blog that will go into detail of the jewelry and its ties to Native culture.

There'ss an exchange between the jewelry we have and their ties to tribal customs and the folklore attached to them, she said. We'sll also go into the history of the some of the gems and metals.

Much of the information provided on both the blog and the website have been heavily researched by the Fourniers, who extend their passion and excitement over to the customer service aspect of being independent business owners:

Sometimes it only takes a question from a customer to start a creative process going and we welcome any queries as they make the process fun for us to find the right products for the right people, she said.

While so many jewelry sites have tawdry examples of bracelets and rings, NativesJewels.com is a sterling example of how the beauty in Native art could also carry on a chic quality.
