Great Taste Show to Feature Oakcreek Golf Country Club of Sedona AZ



April 7, 2005 -- Platinum Television Group is pleased to announce the selection of Oakcreek Golf & Country Club for its innovative, educational television series, Great Taste. It will be featured in a segment on Ultimate Golf Destinations for the Collection Series.



What's the antidote to stress How about a view of the famed Red Rocks of Sedona, AZ, while playing golf in the midst of such splendor on a course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Jr. All this and more are available at the Oakcreek Country Club, Sedona's original championship golf course, built in 1967.



Magnificent and well maintained, Oakcreek's course is known to provide excellent value for a reasonable greens fee. The course is challenging as well as scenic. Oakcreek is an 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course offering four sets of tees to play from giving you the opportunity to choose what length of course you are comfortable with. In the usual Trent Jones manner, the fairways are classic tree-lined doglegs with fairway bunkers strategically placed in the landing areas, and the greens are all slightly elevated and surrounded with large swirling greenside bunkers. The course is "player friendly", allowing plenty of room for error but always with an opportunity to recover and get errant shots back into play.



The golf course consists of 145 acres, including three lakes. Recent renovations to the course include brand-new concrete cart paths and all the greenside bunkers rebuilt under the watchful eyes of the Robert Trent Jones Jr. design firm.



While it is primarily a public course, aimed at vacationers and residents of Sedona, there are a limited number of golf memberships (350) offered as well. It is an upscale golfing experience in a world-class location with a small-town community atmosphere.



Add in a newly renovated two-million-dollar clubhouse, which caters parties for private and business events as well, and one has a wondrous location for pleasure and relaxation as well as sport.



The Village of Oakcreek Association is the umbrella group for the many residences that surround the golf course, emphasizing that it is an ideal location for "baby boomers'' seeking to retire or purchase a second home.
