The Department of Homeland Security will tell 7,000 facilities next week that they are considered terrorist targets. The facilities include chemical companies, universities, hospitals and others that house or manufacture high-risk chemicals. Government officials advise that terrorist organizations favor chemical attack methods. As a result DHS seeks to impose security measures at chemical sites across the country through the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) regulations.
