International Biometrics Web Conference Is a Huge Success
September 28, 2005, saw the live broadcast of the first-ever 1-day international Biometrics Web Conference, the Biometrics E-Symposium 8482; 2005. With over 1,500 viewings from 86 countries, the E-Symposium 8482; has without any doubt lived up to its promise to power dialogues and knowledge sharing worldwide.
With everyone tuning in from the convenience of their own office, world-leading experts shared the latest thinking, developments and strategies via cutting edge presentations and thought-provoking round table debates. Enthralled delegates were interacting with the speakers during highly constructive and useful Q&A sessions.
But the knowledge sharing didn't stop there. Delegates made use of the DelegateChat, a web-based instant messaging chatroom which allows 'attendees' to engage in public or private chats with their international peers. And there was the DelegateBlog, which is still now being used to post points of view, technical biometric questions and even a complete outline of a biometric system required by an end user.
If you couldn't make the live E-Symposium, all is not lost 8211; the organizers are making a complete presentation archive available which will allow you to view presentations at your own leisure. The only loss is the immediacy of interaction with the speaker 8211; questions are submitted via e-mail which means answers may take a little longer in return.
Delegate feedback suggests excitement at the simple and straight-forward experience without any technical flaws at all and profound appreciation for the high quality speakers and program topics. Sponsors were also satisfied, "We really enjoyed the E-Symposium 8482;, both as a speaker and as a listener. Thank you again for this opportunity. We were very happy with the results.", says Tessa Jelowicki, Director of Biometrics Technologies (NZ) Limited, who presented from her office in New Zealand to reach out to an international audience.
"The scale of the Biometrics E-Symposium success is encouraging. We would like to thank the International Biometric Industry Association, the International Association for Biometrics, the European Biometrics Forum and the Biometrics Institute for their continued guidance and support. Our warm thanks also go out to the sponsors. With the first E-Symposium made available free of charge to the international biometrics community, it is the sponsorship support which made the entire event possible.", says Val-Pierre Genton, Chair of the Biometrics E-Symposium 8482; and President & CEO of e-symposium Ltd, the 'e-vent' organizers.
Sponsors included Panasonic System Solutions, Afix Technologies, DNAPrint, Biometrics Technologies (NZ), Keltec, Lasercard, Precise Biometrics, International Biometric Group, Cherry Corporation, Iris Guard Incorporated, Biometric Security AG, Lab Corp, the International Biometric Group and findBiometrics.
