General Dynamics Canada Selects Presagis Tools and Services for CP140...

Presagis, a leading provider of commercial-off-the shelf (COTS) modeling, simulation and embedded display graphics software, today announced it is supporting General Dynamics Canada, Canada's largest defence contractor, in the training and testing component of the Aurora Incremental Modernization Project (AIMP).

Chosen in a competitive bid for its standards-based solutions, Presagis is providing General Dynamics Canada with a specialized database of air, land, marine and weapons models.

Developed by the content creation services program at Presagis, the database provides the ability to include detailed models of military and civilian aircraft, ships, buildings and vehicles in addition to customized attributes such as soldiers wearing Canadian uniforms. The exceptional detailing of the entities combined with the powerful semi-automated forces capability of STAGE Scenario software from Presagis enables customers to provide a realistic visual experience and immersive training environment for trainees. With these high-fidelity simulations, trainees are exposed to sophisticated scenarios based on mission strategies with the added benefit of adjusting its simulations on-the-fly to incorporate trainee feedback or new mission plans.

About the Aurora Incremental Modernization Project

In 2002, General Dynamics Canada was awarded the contract to supply and install a new data management system into Canada's long-range patrol aircraft, the CP-140 Aurora. As part of the Aurora Incremental Modernization Program, General Dynamics Canada is responsible for the integration of new aircraft mission sensors and systems for the CP-140 fleet. Integrated sensors include radar, Electronic Support Measures, acoustics, Magnetic Anomaly Detection, navigation and communication systems. General Dynamics Canada is responsible for providing various ground support equipment such as a software integration lab, pre- and post-mission analysis tools, and training facilities, as well as for the management of in-service support.
