Insurance Leader Michael R. Slade Takes Worksite Benefit Communications High-tech with NaviTech
Industry Innovator Positioned to Further Revolutionize
Employee Benefit Education and Enrollment
Atlanta -- As the pioneer of the insurance industry's8217;s innovation of benefit communication to employees at the
worksite, Michael R. Slade, CLU, turned to technology, taking this concept one step further with the introduction of his
new company, NaviTech, Inc.
NaviTech, formerly SouthCorp HR Services, has developed one-of-a-kind tools, through The NavigatorTM software, designed to take advantage of professional technology and deliver customized
benefit information and enrollment options through visual, verbal and interactive education. NaviTech is the first company to
offer an easy-to-use, cost-effective technology solution to fill the education void between companies and their employees, virtually eliminating the administrative duties and drastically
lowering the implementation costs associated with benefit enrollment and education.
's8220;The solid relationships SouthCorp HR Services had developed with insurance carriers and their clients combined with my proven success and understanding in worksite benefit
education afforded a real opportunity to address one of the biggest needs within HR departments today,'s8221; said Slade, NaviTech's8217;s founder and president. 's8220;Companies should
feel comfortable knowing NaviTech's8217;s roots run deep within the insurance industry, and it's8217;s not a start-up company run by a team of technology engineers. Our business model is
simple: Address real benefit education issues using accessible, interactive technology.'s8221;
After graduating from the University of South Carolina, Slade embarked on an illustrious 18-year career in worksite marketing which included top recognition for sales, multiple leadership
positions, and a series of industry 's8220;firsts's8221;. Among them, UnumProvident Corporation, the largest provider of group and individual disability income protection insurance in
North America, made him the first executive sales manager in the insurance industry to be an independent contractor when he was selected to head the sales organization of 5,400 producers
for Colonial Supplemental Insurance, a subsidiary of UnumProvident. As a result, Slade delivered Colonial's8217;s first non-adjusted, double-digit annual sales growth in 16 years. It was
during this time that Slade began to see a significant void with the insurance industry's8217;s education and enrollment services at the worksite. He engaged a technology team in 2000
that began working independently to develop a solution, now known as The Navigator.
's8220;NaviTech creates an interesting new paradigm shift within the industry among carriers, brokers and clients,'s8221; Slade said. 's8220;To be able to lower costs and positively
affect revenue models among these three key players with one technology system is unprecedented in the worksite marketplace.'s8221;
