Suburban Aviation Helps Michigan Workers Land on Their Feet by Helping Them Get up in the Air
The news in Michigan is not all grim. While automotive plants are closing, and related jobs are evaporating, the aviation industry appears to be booming. Clearly the airline industry is financially stressed, however opportunities exist with airports, charter airlines, corporate and business aviation departments as well as cargo companies. According to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), the first half of 2006 boasts the highest recorded billings in general aviation history.
Suburban Aviation, Michigan'ss Cessna Aircraft authorized representative and Pilot Center is responding to the demands of the industry as well as the needs of Michigan'ss workers with free pilot
ground school training.
We can help people get back on their feet, remarked Pat Redmond, Director of Sales for Suburban Aviation. We can get them started with
ground school , and before long they'sre opening their own flight school or flying for an airline.
The
ground school will be offered at Suburban'ss main location in Ottawa Lake, MI and runs two nights each week for six weeks. The training prepares a student for the FAA written exam which is a requirement for all pilots.
We'sve never offered this training for free, stated Redmond, but I don'st think there'ss a better time to provide this class. An aviation career certainly presents an option here in Michigan, and a very enjoyable one as well.
