Boston, MA November 18, 2008 -- The results are in: CollegeWeekLive sets record for attendance at a college fair. More than 25,000 high school students, parents, and guidance counselors attended CollegeWeekLive Fall on November 12th and 13th, where they met with admission representatives from 200 colleges and generated more than 18,000 speaker session views. The college fair, which is held online, makes college search more convenient for students, allowing high school students to watch live video presentations and ask questions directly to admissions experts in real-time. Attendees can also video chat with students on college campuses to learn what student life is really like.
WOW! What a fabulous forum for receiving information about colleges -- I was able to ask all the questions I would while on a tour (yes, I'sm a parent helping my student shop for a
school) - without having to drive the two hours to the school, said Kim Schaefer of Massachusetts. And as the day went on, I realized I was able to ask even more questions than on a tour,
more in depth questions I would want to call the Admissions Reps to ask, but of course, I realize they don'st usually have time for my random phone calls.
This edition of CollegeWeekLive was covered by major media outlets such as ABC World News with Charles Gibson, BusinessWeek online, and ABC, CBS and Fox television news stations. The
event also featured participation by representatives from AAA Financial Services, American College Testing Program (ACT), the American Institute of Public Accountants (AICPA), CAP3, New
Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHHEAF), Princeton Review, U.S. Department of Education, and US News 's38; World Report. CollegeWeekLive returns on Wednesday and
Thursday March 25-26, 2009 at 9:00 am EST. Because spring is historically when high school juniors kick-off the college admissions search in earnest, the March event is expected to be the
biggest CollegeWeekLive yet.
Our post-event survey results show that more than 94% of attendees would recommend CollegeWeekLive to a friend, and more than 80% plan on attending our Spring event on March 25-26 2009
said Robert Rosenbloom, CEO and President of PlatformQ, the producer of the event. That is a strong a testimony to the notion that we are providing badly-needed college admissions
information in a format that makes sense to kids in this digital age.
More than 80 hours of archived video content from last week'ss event, including a rich supply of resource material related to college admissions, is now available for ninety days to
registrants. The CollegeWeekLive environment enables attendees to come and go as they please, so students can use the archive material now as a research tool as they prepare to attend the
Spring event live. To learn more about CollegeWeekLive and to register, visit http://www.collegeweeklive.com.
