Three HydroWorx therapy pools (http://hydroworx.com/) will be housed in the Mountaineers' new Kidd Brewer Stadium Athletic Complex. With the 1000 Series exercise pool (http://hydroworx.com/), ground-based gait training and sport-specific activities will easily be duplicated by ASU athletes on the variable speed underwater treadmill (http://hydroworx.com/). The therapy pool's high-powered water jets are strategically placed for resistance training and deep tissue massage. Several athletes will be able to receive aquatic therapy (http://hydroworx.com/) at one time with multiple workstations and a variable water depth feature.
The indoor therapy pool's high-tech heating unit provides fully-automated water temperatures. Next to the 1000 Series exercise pool will be the HydroWorx ThermalPlunge hot tub and PolarPlunge cold tub pools, enabling warm and cold water therapy as well as contrast therapy. This state-of-the-art facility will stand behind the home side of Kidd Brewer Stadium, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Boone, North Carolina.
The complex will open at the inception of the 2009 football season. All ASU student-athletes will have access to the benefits of the new hydrotherapy and athletic training rooms; the strength and conditioning room with also be open to all of the school's athletic teams. In addition to the underwater treadmill pool, hot therapy pool, cold therapy pool, and athletic training room, the three-peat national champion football squad will take advantage of a new equipment room, locker rooms, and team meeting rooms. Fans will benefit from the stadium's new press box, luxury suites, and VIP club seating. Appalachian State student-athletes will also enjoy new athletic offices and a study hall and tutorial space.
The inclusion of HydroWorx hydrotherapy technology in the Kidd Brewer Stadium Athletic Complex demonstrates the university's incredible drive to stay atop the competition. Appalachian State's commitment to excellence is also proven by the fact that they will open the 2008 season by challenging the defending FBS national champions, Louisiana State University, on August 30th. Both schools are HydroWorx aquatic therapy customers.
