Broad Ripple Farmers Market New Location New Vendors

May 5, 2005 -- The Broad Ripple Farmers' Market is moving to the grounds of the Indianapolis Art Center after five years in its previous location. The Market will open on Saturday, May 28th, at 820 E. 67th Street and will run through October. Market hours are7:30 to 11:00am weekly. The new location places the Market adjacent to the new ArtsPark and along a portion of the popular Monon Trail.

The 2005 Broad Ripple Farmers' Market will showcase Indiana-grown or produced flowers and foods from over thirty vendors. In addition to flowers, fruit and vegetable growers, many organic, this year's Market will also feature fresh baked goods, Indiana raised beef and lamb, locally produced honey, shagbark hickory syrup, fresh goat cheese, organic milk and many other items from returning vendors. New in 2005 will be two local bakeries, an exotic mushroom grower, a dog bakery and a grist miller with organic stone-ground flower and baking mixes. Local and regional musical acts will perform from 9 - 10:30am on most weekends.

"This year's Broad Ripple Farmers' Market promises to have both culinary and cultural attractions which should appeal to a wide range of patrons. We hope to see a lot of new visitors along with the familiar faces that make our Market such a popular Saturday destination." notes Brad Hopper, Market Manager and Executive Director of the Broad Ripple Village Association, who produces the event.
