From the new community section, beYOU.tv members can now search for and connect with a local fitness instructor, personal trainer or fitness location directly from the trainer's personal beYOU.tv mini-site, and share their experiences and recommendations with other members. The new instructor and location area already contains tens of thousands of entries including gyms, studios, trainers, and classes--with more being added daily by the growing beYOU.tv member community.
"For trainers and instructors, the new beYOU.tv (http://www.beyou.tv/) mini-site feature represents an easy and cost-effective way to market themselves and build their name recognition and client base," said Bob Kasunic, vice president of marketing and licensing at beYOU.tv, and a fitness instructor himself. "We heard from instructors that they don't have the technical expertise, budget or time to create a professional-looking online presence, and so that's exactly what we've created for them."
A beYOU.tv instructor mini-site is specifically designed to meet the needs of fitness professionals by effectively presenting their expertise and core offerings. It provides a way to showcase the instructor's personal philosophy, specialties, certifications, upcoming classes, and personal video favorites available on beYOU.tv -- and then to connect with beYOU.tv members looking for these services in their neighborhood. A 'wall' feature can be used to post special offers and interact with beYOU.tv members.
beYOU.tv members can search hundreds of high-quality video workouts (http://www.beyou.tv/) to find one that suits their needs, schedule and interests. Full-length videos can be previewed for free, then purchased and downloaded to iPod, Zune or computer. All videos are DRM-free. Monthly membership provides streaming access to the complete library, with videos playable in full-screen mode. Available workout videos include core/weight/cardio training, dance, yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, martial arts, meditation, and more. Prices range from $4.95 to $14.95.
The new community features and mini-sites were previewed to the fitness industry at the IDEA World Fitness Convention (the world's largest association for health & fitness professionals) in Las Vegas, where the service met with an enthusiastic reception. "As a fitness professional, I think this site is exactly what is needed to promote ourselves and our clubs without asking our members to join social networks that can be unsafe or inappropriate. I think many of my students and staff will use this site to connect," said Ashley Berberich, a fitness instructor located in Hamilton, Ohio.
200 Days of "Healthaliciousness (http://www.beyou.tv/)":
Since its launch in September 2007, beYOU.tv has experienced phenomenal organic growth, with traffic doubling every quarter -- mostly through word of mouth. "We believe one reason for our impressive growth is that we have inspired our members to think beyond just fitness and wellness and more in terms of a personal and fun approach to their health -- something we like to call being 'Healthalicious'," added Kareem Kouddous, president and founder of beYOU.tv.
"beYOU.tv lets me try some workouts that I would be too shy to do in front of a class full of strangers. I also travel a lot, so accessing beYOU.tv from my hotel room is like taking all of my favorite instructors on the road with me. My beYOU.tv membership is my fulfillment of a 'no more excuses' promise I made with myself," said beYOU.tv member Jodi Smith of Los Angeles.
"beYOU.tv is for anyone who wants more than a good workout on the go--it's for anyone looking to improve their overall health and well-being," said Kasunic. "Since launch, we've added hundreds videos from some of the best instructors and teachers in the areas of physical fitness, personal growth and spiritual growth. And now we're connecting our members with local resources to extend their fitness program."
